Current is a leading digital agency based in the US, known for creating innovative digital experiences that drive real impact. As a Lead Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction and delivery of complex digital projects across multiple client engagements.
As a Lead Engineer, you will collaborate closely with strategy, design, production, and engineering teams to define technical approaches and delivery plans. You'll lead the technical architecture, development, and delivery of complex digital projects, ensuring that your solutions are scalable, high-quality, and maintainable. Your expertise in JavaScript, PHP, and modern front-end/back-end frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, or Node.js will be highly valued. You will also be responsible for building scalable, maintainable, and high-performing web applications and CMS-driven platforms, and for assessing the technical health of active projects and recommending improvements or modernization opportunities.
In this role, you will guide engineering standards, code quality, and architectural best practices across projects, contributing to internal tooling, workflows, and engineering culture initiatives. You will also collaborate on project planning, estimation, technical scoping, and delivery strategy, and stay informed on emerging technologies and opportunities to improve processes and solutions.
Our ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of software or web development experience, with a strong background in JavaScript, PHP, and modern front-end/back-end frameworks. They should have advanced experience with Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms, and a deep understanding of the LAMP stack, including PHP and MySQL. They will also have experience building scalable applications, integrations, and API-driven solutions.
The target range of base compensation for this role is 0,000 - 5,000 annually, and actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
