Responsibilities
- Develop and implement group strategies in the steel sector (e.g., billets, profiles, parts, galvanized products)
- Conduct analysis of national and international procurement markets
- Select, qualify, and develop suppliers
- Engage in negotiations for framework agreements, price, and terms and conditions
- Execute cost analyses and implement cost savings initiatives
- Collaborate closely with construction, production, quality assurance, and supply chain management
- Manage supply chain risk, including inventory, price volatility, and geopolitical risks
- Support decision-making on make-or-buy decisions
- Clarify escalation issues within the supply chain
Requirements
- Completed a degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Machinery, or a comparable field
- Proven experience in strategic procurement, ideally in an industry-related or comparable field
- A thirst for technology and economic connections
- Confidence and strong negotiation skills, especially in negotiations
- Experience working with international suppliers
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office
- A structured, self-contained approach to work
- Fluent in both German and English, both for business communications
- High travel readiness
