Job Description
Hi, I’m Darcy! I joined Ashby nearly two years ago to establish our events function. I started my career in interior design before moving into event and field marketing, and have spent ~10 years producing high-impact events and campaigns across a range of companies. At Ashby, I’ve led everything from full-scale user conferences like Ashby One to activations at industry conferences like Transform and RecFest, high-touch retreat-style summits, and smaller, intimate field and community events. Some of my favorite field event experiences at Ashby have included a private suite at the U.S. Open, a full buyout of an iconic Austin BBQ venue, an intimate omakase dining experience, and a private suite at the FIFA World Cup - just to name a few. We have a strong events team in place, and we're excited to grow it as we work toward making this our most exceptional year yet.
We have notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. Our growth and retention metrics are best-in-class among our peers: we have tens of millions in ARR, growing >100% year over year, over 4,000 customers, very low churn, and many years of runway. We’ll share more details once we meet!
About this Role
At Ashby, we believe events are more than just gatherings - they’re powerful moments to connect, inspire, and build community. Every detail, from the first invite to the last goodbye, is a reflection of our brand and our commitment to creating thoughtful, human-centered experiences.
We’re looking for a Senior Field Marketing Event Manager who knows how to create experiences people feel - someone who can balance creative vision with flawless execution and turn every detail into a reflection of the Ashby brand.
You’ll drive operational execution of Ashby’s field marketing events across the AMER region, with a focus on Mid-Market and Enterprise accounts. Your role is to bring our event presence to life through thoughtful, high-quality events that elevate our brand and create meaningful connections with prospects and customers.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, managing logistics and budgets end-to-end and serving as a reliable on-site presence to ensure every detail runs seamlessly. Along the way, you’ll build strong partnerships with venues, vendors, and agencies and craft internal playbooks that help us scale globally.
You’ll be a strong cross-functional partner to Sales and Demand Generation, and work with reps and Sales leaders to align on goals, audiences, and success metrics, while ensuring programs and outreach stay on track before and after events.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of organization, efficiency, and elevated design sensibility - a dependable operator and thoughtful host who excels at managing logistics, keeping teams aligned, and executing with exceptional judgment, meticulous planning, and a refined eye for detail to ensure every element feels intentional.
You will:
-
Plan and execute highly curated, one-of-a-kind events in AMER designed to deepen relationships with customers and prospects and reflect Ashby’s brand values. Examples include private suites, dinners, happy hours, experiential events, and creative brand moments tailored to specific audiences.
-
Foster meaningful relationships with customers and prospects to establish a strong, globally connected network that supports future growth and collaboration.
-
Coordinate cross-functionally with Marketing, Demand Generation, Sales, and Design to ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, and seamless attendee experiences.
-
Design and document playbooks that allow Ashby to scale activations efficiently and maintain brand excellence in every market.
-
Create and maintain detailed documentation, including event briefs, timelines, run-of-shows, staffing and travel plans, and post-event debriefs.
-
Serve as the on-site event lead, managing setup, run-of-show, and teardown, while ensuring a polished and professional presence.
-
Track performance metrics such as attendance, NPS, pipeline influence, engagement, and ROI to inform future event decisions.
You will probably love this role if
-
You’re equal parts creative and organized - you can dream big and build and execute on the detailed plan that makes it happen.
-
You are a strong project manager who keeps programs on track and anticipates issues before they arise.
-
You are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution and attention to detail.
-
You bring a relationship-driven approach to your work - whether it’s with vendors, teammates, or customers, you know collaboration is key to great work.
-
You’re business-minded and confident negotiating contracts. You’ll be responsible for evaluating vendors and venues, managing budgets, and ensuring a positive return on investment.
-
You see events not just as experiences, but as powerful drivers of brand love and business growth.
You may not be a fit if
-
You don’t want to travel. While we share travel responsibilities across the team, this role will require travel monthly.
-
You are not located near a major East or West Coast hub
-
You’re looking to only do the “fun” work. This role covers everything from event strategy to booking restaurants, managing vendors, and ensuring name badges are printed correctly.
-
You struggle with organization, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail, or meeting deadlines.
-
You don’t have a confident point of view on what great looks and feels like - you’re not someone who obsesses over design, detail, and unique experiences.
-
You haven’t had direct experience tying events to business outcomes or owning the GTM strategy for events.
Interview Plan
At Ashby, we design our interview process to help you show your best self. Here’s what to expect:
-
A 30-minute intro call with Michelle – An introductory chat to learn more about the role and share a bit about your experience and how you’d want to approach this role.
-
A 45-minute interview with the Hiring Manager (Darcy) – We’ll dive into past projects and discuss your approach to events.
-
A 30-minute interview with the VP Marketing (Harriet) – She’ll want to understand how you work, your approach to building and designing events, and your alignment with our Operating Principles.
-
A take-home assignment, which you’ll have 30 mins to discuss with the hiring team.
-
A virtual on-site of 1.5 - 2 hours with a panel of interviewers.
Benefits
-
Competitive salary and equity.
-
Opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team.
-
10-year exercise window for stock options. You shouldn’t feel pressure to purchase stock options if you leave Ashby —do it when you feel financially comfortable.
-
Unlimited PTO with four weeks recommended per year. Expect “Vacation?” in our one-on-one agenda until you start taking it .
-
Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US. We plan to expand this to employees in other countries as situations arise.
-
Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget. Get what you need to be happy and productive!
-
$100/month education budget with more expensive items (like conferences) covered with manager approval.
-
If you’re in the US, top-notch health insurance for you and your dependents with all premiums covered by us.

Expert Career Tips for Sr. Field Marketing Event Manager Roles
To succeed in a competitive market as a Sr. Field Marketing Event Manager, you need more than just technical skills. Here are some expert strategies to elevate your profile:
- Build a Strong Portfolio: For technical roles, a clean GitHub or a personal project site is essential. For non-technical roles, a case study portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact is equally valuable. Show, don't just tell, what you have achieved in your previous positions.
- Master the Narrative: When interviewing, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Quantify your results wherever possible—mentioning "increased efficiency by 20%" is much more impactful than saying "improved efficiency."
- Continuous Learning: The industry moves fast. Whether it's staying updated with the latest AI tools or mastering a new management methodology, continuous professional development is key. Consider obtaining industry-recognized certifications that align with Sr. Field Marketing Event Manager requirements.
- Networking: Connect with other professionals in similar roles. Join online communities, attend webinars, and engage in meaningful discussions on professional social networks. Often, the best opportunities come through referrals and community engagement.
- Soft Skills Matter: Communication, empathy, and leadership are often the deciding factors between two equally qualified technical candidates. Cultivate these skills as they are universally valued across all industries and seniority levels.
Additionally, research the specific company's culture and values. Tailoring your application to show how you align with their mission can significantly increase your chances of moving forward in the process.

Comprehensive Application Strategy & Hiring Process
Applying for a new role is a marathon, not a sprint. Follow this strategic approach to maximize your success rate:
1. Initial Research & Tailoring
Don't send the same resume to every employer. Spend at least 30 minutes researching the company. Look for recent news, their product roadmap, and their team structure. Modify your summary and core competencies to reflect the specific keywords found in the job description.
2. The Perfect Cover Letter
If the application allows for a cover letter, use it to tell a story that your resume cannot. Explain why you are passionate about this specific company and how your unique background makes you the perfect fit for the challenges they are currently facing.
3. Navigating the Multi-Stage Interview
Most modern hiring processes involve 3-5 stages. This typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or skill-based assessment, a peer interview, and a final leadership round. Prepare for each stage differently: focus on enthusiasm and fit for the recruiter, technical depth for the assessment, and strategic vision for the leadership round.
4. Post-Interview Follow-Up
Always send a personalized thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview. Reference a specific topic discussed during the call to demonstrate your active listening and genuine interest in the role.
By following these steps, you demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that sets you apart from the average applicant.

- HR call
- Skill interview

Global Market Intelligence & Relocation Insights
At JobSetuu, we specialize in helping talent navigate the global job market. Here is what you need to know about the current landscape in Global and beyond:
The demand for skilled professionals is increasingly borderless. For roles based in Global, understanding the local cost of living, visa requirements (if applicable), and cultural nuances is vital. If this is a remote role, consider the time zone alignment and the asynchronous communication culture of the hiring organization.
Relocation Support: Many forward-thinking companies offer relocation packages that include moving stipends, temporary housing, and legal assistance with work permits. When evaluating an offer, look beyond the base salary—consider the total compensation package, including equity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.
Work-Life Balance Trends: Hybrid and remote work have become standard in many regions. Research the local labor laws and common practices regarding work hours and vacation time to ensure the role aligns with your lifestyle goals.
Leveraging JobSetuu's tools can help you compare salaries across different cities and understand the "purchasing power" of your potential offer, ensuring you make an informed decision for your long-term career path.
Skills & Competency Roadmap for Professional Development
To remain competitive in Professional Development, we recommend focusing on the following core competencies over the next 12-18 months:
- Technical Mastery: Deepen your expertise in the core tools and languages relevant to your field. For developers, this might be cloud architecture; for marketers, it might be data-driven attribution modeling.
- AI Augmentation: Learn how to leverage generative AI and automation tools to increase your productivity. Understanding how to integrate these technologies into your workflow is becoming a non-negotiable skill.
- Leadership & Strategy: Even in individual contributor roles, the ability to think strategically and lead projects from inception to completion is highly valued. Focus on stakeholder management and high-level project planning.
- Data Literacy: The ability to interpret data and use it to drive decisions is essential across all business functions. Familiarize yourself with data visualization and basic analytical concepts.
By investing in these areas, you not only prepare yourself for the role you are applying for today but also build a resilient foundation for the opportunities of tomorrow.
