We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Verification Platform team, where you will play a pivotal role in elevating our platform to the next level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate the backend services for VP, including the orchestration engine and automated decisioning pipeline, ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Implement key orchestration features such as multi-method flow execution, branching, fallback logic, and webhook integrations.
- Focus on resilience in distributed systems, including idempotency handling, backpressure, retries, backwards compatibility testing, and SPOF elimination, ensuring production-critical systems are highly available and reliable.
- Contribute to on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortems to keep critical flows healthy and ensure reliability.
- Engage in continuous improvement through code reviews, CI practices, runbook documentation, and mentoring teammates.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale backend applications with Python, including event-driven and async architectures with message queues (e.g., SQS or similar).
- Proven experience in managing production-critical services, demonstrating reliability and availability.
- Strong expertise in designing for resilience in distributed systems, including idempotency, backpressure, retries, backwards compatibility testing, and SPOF elimination.
- Proficient in modular design approaches and SOLID principles.
- Hands-on experience building scalable, maintainable APIs.
- Comfortable with a range of testing strategies that ensure robust and reliable software.
- Comfortable with relational database fundamentals.
- Experience with workflow or orchestration engines, event-driven systems, Kubernetes, or identity verification domain knowledge.
