Our global technology leader in precision optics is seeking a System Engineer for Optics Solutions. The role is highly technical, requiring deep expertise in optics, systematic thinking, and the ability to translate complex requirements into innovative systems.
You are responsible for the integration of core products—from requirement analysis to serial production. You collaborate closely with Construction, Electronics, and Software teams, drive technological innovations, and ensure the quality of precision instruments.
Background and Scope
This position is located in Switzerland, and we will assist with the move or transition, should you not currently reside in the region of the Alps.

- Lead technical project responsibilities across development phases—ideation, through to serial production, with additional responsibilities
- System interface management: coordination of optical, construction, electronics, and software integration to form a coherent system
- Requirement management and specification development based on market demands and customer feedback
- Quality assurance through systematic interface validation between disciplines
- Communication with internal and external partners—acting as a point of contact for complex technical questions
- Coordinating suppliers and supporting production readiness and quality processes
- Continuous professional development: monitoring technological trends and emerging materials
- Self-driven research and development projects (up to Technology Readiness Level 6) aimed at positioning as a technical and external expert
Requirements
Requirements
- Master’s degree from ETH/FH or equivalent in natural sciences or engineering
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in product development with a systems perspective
- Expertise in optical systems with practical experience in specialized application areas advantageous
- Strong project management skills in interdisciplinary teams
- Analytical skills, systematic problem-solving mindset, clear communication
- Proficiency in both German and English in negotiations and communication
