The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with front-end expertise, capable of serving as a manager for up to six other engineers, with a 50% allocation of time dedicated to management responsibilities.
On the Engineering Front:
- Design and implement highly performant, scalable, and responsive user interfaces, ensuring smooth and efficient user experiences.
- Optimize frontend performance to address real-time challenges and network disruptions, utilizing a single source of truth managed through efficient caching.
- Translate functional requirements into elegant and simple designs, delivering high-quality code and ensuring smooth delivery of value to end users.
- Understand and address the product and customer needs, suggesting innovative ideas to maximize value and deliver maximum benefit to end users.
On the People Management Front:
- Coach up to six direct reports, providing guidance, support, and feedback, typically every two weeks.
- Define expectations, collect and deliver feedback, and build career development plans using our skill leveling matrix, with performance-related decisions and salary raises handled by other managers.
- Lead ad hoc projects to structure engineering efforts, such as organizing technical demos, leading All Hands meetings, or evolving our skill leveling matrix.
Our Pigment engineering team operates with a focus on people management, with technical leadership provided by technical leads, ensuring that career decisions and technical choices are independent of one another.

Requirements:
- Experience as a software engineer working on a product in production, evaluated during the interview process at a "senior" level (typically from 7-8 years).
- Experience in people management for at least 2-3 years.
- Proven experience with front technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, CSS, React, Vue, and Angular (among others).
- A great team spirit with a problem-solving attitude and a user experience focus.
- A good dose of humility and the willingness to grow, regardless of seniority.
