Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Field Service & Automation Technician to join our team in Rancho Dominguez, CA, to provide hands-on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for CNC machines and integrated automation systems. This role is designed to support customers in a defined Southern California territory with minimal supervision and will involve working independently.
Key Requirements:
- A strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hands-on troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical or electromechanical troubleshooting.
- CNC machine-tool or industrial automation experience.
- Familiarity with Siemens SINUMERIK/SINAMICS, PLCs, servo systems, and industrial networks.
- Experience with robotics, machine tending, commissioning, or third-party automation integration.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, including dealing with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage service calls, priorities, and time.
- Use of schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical service information to isolate and diagnose complex problems.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and customer-service skills.
Performance Objectives:
- Install, maintain, service, and perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
- Assist with automation commissioning and production startup.
- Use schematics, diagnostic tools, and service information to isolate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Document service work thoroughly and maintain accurate CRM information.
- Provide detailed field feedback to identify and prevent recurring equipment or integration issues.
- Maintain the company service vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment.
- Assist other Field Service Technicians with troubleshooting and travel outside the normal territory when required.
- Work approximately 40-50 hours per week, with opportunities for overtime based on business needs.
