Job Description
adjoe is redefining the future of mobile ads. Powered by advanced AI, first-party data and world-class engineers, we’ve perfected the offerwall experience for monetizing and scaling app publishers with solutions like Playtime and Arcade – now the fastest growing rewarded advertising channel globally – driving incremental engagement, retention, and revenue. At the same time, we’re breaking into programmatic advertising with the intelligent bidding system of adjoe Ads. Together, this ecosystem connects app developers to over 600 million users worldwide for scalable growth. Backed by a $100 million investment from Bertelsmann and operating from offices in Hamburg, Boston, Singapore, and Tokyo, adjoe is defining the next stages of app and ad experience – right now. Join us.
We are looking for a Mid-Level QA Automation Engineer to join our UI-heavy Catalog team who takes personal ownership of product quality, ensuring that every solution we deliver is stable, performant, and backed by clear documentation. Your expertise will allow you to navigate complex systems and predict potential points of failure, ensuring we consistently deliver the rigorous, high-quality results our top partners depend on.
What you will do:
- Full-Stack Automation: Develop and maintain end-to-end test suites using Playwright (TypeScript) that cover both complex UI interactions and the underlying API logic.
- API Rigor: Design and execute sophisticated API tests (integration and contract testing) to validate request/response payloads, status codes, and data consistency across our microservices.
- Utilize AI tools to speed up test script authoring, generate synthetic test data, and implement self-healing UI tests.
- Ensure the Offerwall renders perfectly in various web-views and mobile browsers, using visual regression tools to catch UI regressions.
- Verify that frontend actions correctly reflect in our datastores (DynamoDB, Redis, MySQL) by querying databases directly within your test scripts.
- Own the quality gate in our pipeline, ensuring that both UI and API tests provide fast, reliable feedback to the engineering team
- Test and validate the JS-to-Native bridge, ensuring that Offerwall interactions correctly trigger SDK events (e.g., completions, reward pings, and user attribution).
- Design and implement automated testing solutions and coordinate with the infrastructure team to integrate them into the CI/CD build pipeline.
- Go beyond explicit requirements. You will monitor system behavior, including network transfer rates, file size optimization, and database architecture efficiency.
- Take an active role in sprint and release planning. You will highlight missing requirements and identify potential architectural risks early in the lifecycle.
- Maintain a deep understanding of adjoe’s busiess model and the mobile advertising industry at large.
Who you are
- You have 3+ years of experience in QA Automation, with professional-grade proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- You are "fluent" in HTTP. You have extensive experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or Playwright’s native API testing capabilities, and you understand how to mock/stub dependencies.
- You don’t just test the "happy path." You look for edge cases in API error handling, latency issues, and complex state changes.
- You actively use AI coding assistants to write cleaner, more efficient test code and stay updated on AI-led QA trends.
- You have extensive experience designing automated tests using frameworks like Testmo, or Playwright, and you are comfortable working with APIs and datastores like MySQL, DynamoDB, and Redis.
- You can translate complex technical bugs into actionable feedback for developers and stakeholders alike, both in writing and in person.
- You naturally probe for what might go wrong. You accurately gauge risks and prioritize issues based on their impact on the business and the user.
- You thrive when imposing order on a team’s workflow, from structuring test plans to ensuring that documentation is comprehensive and accurate.
- You understand the mobile ad-tech industry and adjoe’s business model, allowing you to contribute meaningfully to product strategy.
