Job Description

Wir suchen eine*n (AI) Product Engineer*in auf Freelance-Basis, der*die unseren KI-Chat Maya technisch weiterentwickelt und langfristig Verantwortung für unser Produkt übernimmt.

Wir von myProtectify entwickeln mit Maya einen anonymen, kostenlosen KI-Hilfe-Chat für Betroffene von häuslicher Gewalt. Maya unterstützt rund um die Uhr mit emotionaler Begleitung, Orientierung, Wissen, Sicherheitsplanung und der Vermittlung passender Hilfsangebote. Gleichzeitig entwickeln wir Maya Schritt für Schritt von einem KI-Chat zu einer umfassenden Plattform weiter, die Betroffene ganzheitlich unterstützt und den Zugang zu Informationen, Hilfsangeboten und individuellen Ressourcen erleichtert.

Dafür brauchen wir technische Unterstützung von einer Person, die nicht nur umsetzt, sondern mitdenkt, Verantwortung übernimmt und Lust hat, ein echtes gesellschaftliches Impact-Produkt mitzugestalten.

Rahmen

Die Zusammenarbeit ist zunächst für ein Projekt über ca. 18 Monate geplant mit ca. 2 Tagen pro Woche. Wir suchen ab sofort und auf Freelance-Basis. Die Zusammenarbeit kann remote erfolgen oder vor Ort in Berlin. Gleichzeitig suchen wir keine kurzfristige Unterstützung „von außen“, sondern eine Person, die fester Bestandteil unseres Kernteams wird. Wenn es für beide Seiten passt, freuen wir uns sehr über eine Zusammenarbeit, die auch über den Projektzeitraum hinausgeht.

Aufgaben

Als Product Engineer übernimmst du Ownership für den technischen Teil unseres Produkts. Du arbeitest eng mit unserem Kernteam zusammen und denkst Produkt, Tech und Nutzer*innenbedürfnisse gemeinsam. Du bringst eigene Ideen, Lösungsvorschläge und Einschätzungen aktiv ein.

Du hilfst uns dabei, Maya technisch weiterzuentwickeln, bestehende Strukturen zu verbessern und neue Funktionen zuverlässig umzusetzen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um sauberen Code, sondern auch um die Frage: Was braucht das Produkt wirklich? Was ist technisch sinnvoll? Was ist sicher, skalierbar und machbar?

• Du baust neue Features end-to-end mit Ownership: von der Idee über die technische Konzeption bis hin zu Umsetzung, Testing und Rollout
• Du übernimmst Verantwortung für die Stabilität, Sicherheit und Skalierbarkeit von unserem Hilfe-Chat Maya, der seit August 2025 von echten Betroffenen genutzt wird
• Du verbindest Tools, Datenbanken, APIs und interne Systeme miteinander, so dass unsere Produkt- und Teamprozesse effizienter werden
• Du übernimmst die technische Weiterentwicklung unserer React Frontend-Anwendung und Integration mit Botpress (Low-Code/ No-Code Service)
• Du entscheidest mit, was wirklich gebaut werden sollte — mit Blick auf Wirkung, Priorität, Geschwindigkeit und Qualität
• Du arbeitest direkt mit UX und Psychologie zusammen und übersetzt fachliche Anforderungen in funktionierende technische Lösungen

Wir suchen eine Person, die eigenverantwortlich arbeitet, gut kommuniziert und Verantwortung übernimmt. Besonders wichtig sind uns:

• sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeit – nicht nur Techie-Sprache :)
• gute Deutschkenntnisse (Teamsprache und User Research sind auf Deutsch)
• eigenverantwortliches Entwickeln von kreativen Ideen und Lösungsvorschlägen
• zuverlässiges und strukturiertes Arbeiten
• Lust, Teil eines kleinen, engagierten Kernteams zu werden

Tech: Was du mitbringst

• Erfahrung als Frontend, Backend oder Fullstack Developer*in oder Product Engineer*in
• AI-first development: agentische Coding-Tools wie Codex oder Claude Code sind dein Default, nicht nur ein Teil deines Workflows (u.a. skills, subagents, workflows, orchestration und context frameworks)
• sehr gutes Gespür dafür, wann Low-Code reicht und wann eigene Entwicklung sinnvoller ist
• gutes Verständnis von Prompt-/Agent-Workflows und Low-Code/ No-Code Tools, wie z.B. Botpress
• gutes Verständnis für technische Architektur, Datenflüsse, Schnittstellen, Integrationen und Skalierbarkeit
• die Fähigkeit, schnell Lösungsansätze zu testen und diese sauber in stabile Produktlogik zu überführen
