As an ASIC STA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Apple. You will be responsible for all aspects of SoC (System on Chip) design in terms of timing, contributing to the overall success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include timing sign-off, development of timing and sign-off flow, understanding design intent and clock structures with CAD tools, and collaborating with the Physical design team to ensure timing constraints are closed and signed off for quality. You will also come up with innovative ideas and plans to ensure timing constraints are verified and managed effectively.
Our ideal candidate for this role should have a proven understanding of the ASIC design timing closure flow and methodology. You should have at least two years of experience in writing ASIC timing constraints and timing closure. Expertise in STA tools like Primetime, and a solid grasp of timing corners/modes, process variations, and signal integrity issues, is essential. You should have hands-on experience in generating and managing timing/SDC (Standard Delay Constraints) constraints, and be proficient in scripting languages such as Tcl and Perl. Familiarity with synthesis, DFT (Design for Testability), and backend-related methodologies and tools is crucial. Your strong communication skills will ensure effective collaboration across diverse teams at Apple, and you should be a self-starter with a strong motivation to succeed in this environment.
