Senior Expert Software Sourcing & Value Creation
Position Summary:
Are you passionate about optimizing IT procurement and driving savings in your clients' software spend? We are looking for a Senior Expert Software Sourcing & Value Creation to join our team at Arbeitnow in Munich, Cologne, or Hamburg. This is a permanent position, working primarily on project-related tasks during the week and spending Fridays in our offices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing software spend, license inventories, and contract structures to derive concrete savings potential.
- Prepare and lead complex new procurements and contract renewals with enterprise software and SaaS providers such as SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Adobe, and ServiceNow.
- Challenging requirements, user groups, license types, modules, add-ons, roll-out plans, and growth assumptions to ensure strategic alignment with the business and technical needs.
- Develop and negotiate commercial models for software licenses and contracts to maximize value and optimize costs.
- Translate business and technical requirements into commercially sound sourcing decisions, including translating them into robust negotiation strategies.
- Prepare workshops, lead discussions, and structure decision-making for IT, business departments, procurement, and management.
- Assist with implementation of measures such as downsizing, reharvesting, license clean-up, and avoiding unnecessary commitments.
- Develop expertise in Software Sourcing & Commercial Value and share knowledge with colleagues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Informatics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in software procurement, IT vendor management, software asset management, license consulting, IT sourcing, and IT commercial management.
- Experience with enterprise software and SaaS contracts, particularly in renewals, new procurements, contract optimization, or license clean-up.
- Strong understanding of license metrics, subscriptions, entitlements, usage rights, edition and pricing models, and typical contractual clauses.
- Experience in preparing and conducting commercial negotiations, developing robust negotiation strategies.
- Experience in leading workshops, structuring complex issues, and collaborating with different stakeholder groups.
- Consulting experience preferred. If you have experience from cross-functional projects and complex decision-making situations, you will be considered.
- Fluent in both German and English, both written and spoken.
- An analytical, structured, and independent way of working, combined with a strong sense for people and situations.
- Willingness to take ownership, drive topics forward, and implement them effectively at clients.
