As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll lead the design and delivery of complex platform capabilities, set technical direction, and raise the bar on quality, security, and customer focus across the organization. You'll take ownership of multi-quarter initiatives, architect security-first patterns, and ensure seamless integration with internal developers. Your experience in Kubernetes, Containers, Infrastructure as Code, and security practices like Kyverno and OPA will help keep the platform secure and efficient. You'll scale existing technologies and introduce new ones, shepherd them from experiment to production-grade adoption, and collaborate with adjacent teams to bring next-generation cloud and DevOps practices to fruition.
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Cloud infrastructure and platform engineering experience, with a proven track record of owning systems end-to-end in production. You've built platforms and platform-as-a-product offerings, treating internal developers as first-class customers, and reduced friction between idea and production. You've designed and rolled out security-first patterns, and implemented policy-as-code controls (Kyverno, OPA) to ensure the platform is secure and easy to use. You have expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and are adept at debugging connectivity issues, troubleshooting Linux internals, and designing for distributed systems. You have experience with GitOps, CI/CD, and observability stacks, and can mentor engineers, drive technical direction across a project team, and align solutions with business objectives in ambiguous, cross-functional environments.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
Responsibilities:

- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code review, design partnership, and targeted coaching on complex assignments.
- Scale existing technologies and introduce new ones to outpace growth projections, and shepherd them from experiment to production-grade adoption.
- Represent the team in cross-organization initiatives, partnering with adjacent platform, security, and developer teams to keep technical strategy cohesive.
- Evaluate and evangelize next-generation cloud and DevOps practices, building the credibility and shared understanding needed to bring them to fruition across WPC.
