As a Forward Deployed Scientist II, you will work closely with some of the world's largest retailers and manufacturers on high-stakes demand forecasting, price and promotion optimization, and supply-chain decision-making. Your primary responsibility will be to own the science end-to-end, from understanding the customer's complex reality to shipping a solution that has commercial impact. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the science behind these problems, from conceptualizing the problem to shipping a solution that changes the way customers operate.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about applying the latest in applied AI to real-world problems, has a strong track record of solving real-world business challenges, and has a talent for owning outcomes rather than just following tasks. You will work closely with data scientists, customer executives, and other stakeholders to understand the customer's challenges and find practical solutions. Your role will directly contribute to the development of UiPath's core capability, so you will have a significant impact on the future of our products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own customer engagements end-to-end, frame the problem, build the solution, and drive it to real commercial impact, working directly alongside customer teams.
- Apply and adapt frontier ML, forecasting, and optimization techniques, and increasingly agentic AI to problems that don't have a textbook answer.
- Turn what works on the ground into product direction, so each engagement makes our core capability better for the next customer.
- Operate with genuine autonomy across a wide range of stakeholders, from data scientists to customer executives, and make the judgment calls that get things shipped.
- Stay at the edge of what's possible in applied AI, and bring it back to the team, ensuring that your work is impactful and contributes to UiPath's overall success.
What you'll bring to the team:
- Strong track record applying ML/data science to real-world commercial problems, ideally with depth in forecasting, optimization, or supply-chain/pricing.
- The instinct to own outcomes, not just tasks — you take an ambiguous problem and drive it to a result rather than waiting for instructions.
- Fluent programming (Python and SQL) and the ability to pick up whatever a problem demands.
- Excellent communication — you can take a customer executive from confusion to confidence, and explain a complex model to a non-technical room.
- Comfort with ambiguity, direct customer contact, and the pace of a team that ships.
- Bonus: experience with agentic/LLM-based systems, or building ML in production.
