Senior Full Stack Engineer
The Localization team at SumUp is responsible for building and managing systems that enable products to be understood and used in multiple languages across 38 markets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring rapid and high-quality content localization that enhances global market entry. The Senior Full Stack Engineer is at the heart of this evolution, responsible for designing, building, and optimizing localization solutions across product, CMS, CRM, marketing, and design systems. The role also includes improving the localization management platform, automating language and quality checks, and enhancing developer, designer, marketer, and content teams' experiences. The Senior Full Stack Engineer will partner with teams to enable localization capabilities across the technology stack and explore how AI and language technology can strengthen and future-proof the localization stack.
Requirements
- Strong background in backend engineering, preferably with Go (alternatively knowledge with Python, Rust, or C++)
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs in microservices or distributed systems environments
- Working knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL and event streaming tools like Kafka
- Comfort translating priorities from non-technical stakeholders into scoped, shippable engineering work
- Ability to operate independently across a fragmented, distributed system landscape, working within architecture owned by other teams
- Experience with frontend frameworks like React.js and languages like TypeScript
- Experience with translation management systems (TMS) or localization of web or mobile applications and other content platforms
