Lead Developer
We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer to join our dynamic team in our San Francisco office. This role is ideal for a passionate software professional with a proven track record of leading development efforts and a strong commitment to excellence. As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for steering a team of developers towards the creation of innovative, high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and exceed their expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient and scalable software solutions using the latest technologies.
- Mentor and lead a team of developers, providing guidance and direction on complex technical problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment on project goals.
- Design and implement effective software architecture to support scalable and maintainable applications.
- Monitor performance metrics and analyze system performance to optimize applications and ensure optimal user experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate requirements into technical specifications, and ensure a solid understanding of the project objectives.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and other necessary materials.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and stay ahead of the competition.
- Work closely with the product management team to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform code audits and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to provide feedback and ensure high-quality code development.
- Collaborate with the development team to identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to enhance the software development process and improve the overall quality of the software products.
- Actively participate in the development of team processes and methodologies to ensure a smooth and effective workflow.
- Work closely with the project manager to manage project timelines and ensure that the team meets the project objectives on time.
- Mentor and train junior developers on best practices, tools, and technologies to help them grow and contribute effectively to the team.
- Continuously seek ways to improve the software development process and ensure that the team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development.
- Proven experience leading a team of developers and providing technical guidance and direction.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
- Proficient in at least one programming language and experience with multiple languages would be an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, both within the team and with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team towards achieving project goals.
- Knowledge of version control systems, Agile development methodologies, and project management tools would be an advantage.
- Experience with cloud-based development tools and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of security practices and experience with secure coding practices would be an advantage.
