We are seeking an Events Lead, UK & International, to develop and execute an exceptional series of events that cater to Substack’s creators and align with our mission to be a new hub for culture. This role involves creating and executing a year-round program of events in the UK, ensuring the brand’s events are compelling and inclusive. Additionally, you will build the framework for Substack’s growing international events, from prominent brand moments in London to intimate gatherings in Sydney, ensuring consistency and growth in our global presence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy and Planning:
- Develop comprehensive event strategies that align with Substack’s mission and vision.
- Create detailed event planning documents that outline logistics, budgets, and timelines for each event.
2. Event Delivery:
- Oversee the delivery of Substack’s brand events in the UK, ensuring they are executed flawlessly and meet the company’s standards.
- Provide high-level event management and ensure all aspects of the events run smoothly from start to finish.
3. Creative Content:
- Collaborate with content creators and influencers to create engaging and relevant event content.
- Develop and execute promotional strategies to maximize engagement and attendance.
4. International Expansion:
- Establish and manage Substack’s events in international locations, ensuring consistency and growth in the global market.
- Build relationships with local organizers and partners to ensure the success of international events.
5. Community Engagement:
- Foster a sense of community among creators and attendees through interactive sessions, Q&A sessions, and networking opportunities.
- Use technology, such as live streaming and social media, to enhance engagement and reach a broader audience.
6. Performance Metrics:
- Track and analyze event performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular progress reports and recommendations to the leadership team.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, event management, public relations, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in event planning, marketing, or a similar field.
- Skills:
- Proven experience in event management, including event planning, coordination, and execution.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in creating and executing successful events in a diverse range of settings.
- Familiarity with event marketing strategies, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively with a global team and manage events in different time zones.
The salary for this position is £65,000 - £75,000 per annum, and we are looking for a full-time role. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culture, events, and creating a community of like-minded individuals.
