Role Roadmap
Kalshi is in need of a state-level regulatory and legislative strategy owner across the Western US. This role will require you to build relationships with representatives and regulators, understand legislative developments, and develop a strategy to advance Kalshi's interests in some of the most complex and high-value states. In this position, you will create the infrastructure, manage relationships, and craft the playbook for how Kalshi operates across California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and Hawaii.
What You'll Do

Own state policy strategy across your region: tracking the legislative calendar, identifying opportunities, and sequencing campaigns.

Monitor regulatory developments and identify initiatives that affect Kalshi.

Build and maintain relationships with elected and appointed officials, legislative committees, and state agencies to advocate for and educate them about Kalshi's product.

Draft and shape policy language.

Travel to priority states and be in the room when it matters.
What You Bring

Experience working inside state government or an Attorney General's office or running state-level government affairs campaigns, ideally in a novel or contested regulatory environment.

Deep familiarity with the political landscape of the Western US: California's regulatory complexity, the Pacific Northwest's legislative dynamics, and the varied politics across mountain and island states (one or all).

Proven ability to manage third parties.

Strong instincts on policy language.

Willingness to travel across the West (and New York - headquarters - on occasion).
