Job Description
Company Description
Workleap is a Montreal-based tech company, founded in 2006. We're builders at heart, we make simple products that actually matter to the people who use them. We have two product lines: The Workleap Agent, our agentic HR platform that helps managers become better leaders, and ShareGate, the world's leading solution for Microsoft 365 migration and governance. More than 15,000 companies worldwide trust us to do exactly that. We're intentional about who joins us. If you're the kind of person who gets excited by a hard problem and wants to help shape what comes next, there's a place for you here.
Your role
We're looking for a customer marketer who sees our existing customer base as our biggest growth opportunity and who wants to own the work of turning that into expansion, upsell, and retention. This role calls for a data-driven person who can rely on product and market signals to proactively drive our customer program.
You'll take the customers we already have, figure out how to get them more value from Workleap, and build and run the programs that deliver it. You'll own the channels, the messaging, and the results.
This is a hands-on role. You'll run initiatives from start to finish: a webinar, an ABM play, a campaign, an exclusive dinner, name it. This means you need to be just as happy, for instance, to gather signals with your team, draft emails, send your work via HubSpot, and review performance to optimize your next round. This is an A to Z role.
Your impact:
- Own and drive customer marketing initiatives end-to-end, from identifying high-leverage cohorts to launching campaigns built on your messaging and creative directions;
- Develop messaging and positioning for existing customers, with a particular focus on driving awareness and adoption of the Manager Agent among our existing base;
- Build a content engine rooted in customer activity: surface stories, proof points, and product-in-action moments that feed back into the broader marketing system;
- Carry new product and feature launches to the existing base, turning each release into adoption and deeper utilization of what customers already have;
- Be the voice of the customer internally. Feed what you learn back to product, Customer Success, and marketing;
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales to identify at-risk accounts, expansion opportunities, and customers ready for the next step — building the messaging, content, and plays that protect retention and drive upsell.
- Design and execute engagement programs across owned channels (email, in-product, events, webinars) to turn happy customers into references and advocates.
- Use AI to scale your output without compromising quality — automating what can be automated, moving faster, and elevating everything you produce above the generic AI baseline;
- Track and report on commercial impact: deals influenced, expansion pipeline touched, and CSM-attributed activity driven by customer marketing.
No two weeks look alike, but most start with a signal. A conversation with a CSM surfaces a pattern across a handful of accounts, and that becomes the seed of a campaign. By midweek, you're briefing creative on it and lining up a webinar you'll run with an internal expert to back it. You'll have one program live, another taking shape, a clear read on what the last one did, and a rough idea of how you'll reframe the next newsletter.
You move between the thinking and the doing, and you don't wait for either to be handed to you.
Your team
You'll be joining a small, high-ownership marketing team. This means that everybody owns their function and leads their expertise with autonomy and accountability. You will have influence.
You'll work cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, and Sales, those relationships are essential to doing this job well. The team moves fast, communicates often, and defaults to action over process. Nobody is waiting to be told what to do next.
Workleap is entering a pivotal phase, bringing an agentic product offering to market while deepening value for our existing customer base. Customer marketing at Workleap is yours to shape from the ground up, which means the person in this role has the rare opportunity to define what good looks like.
What you'll bring
- 4+ years in customer marketing, product marketing, or a hybrid customer/PMM role in SaaS or tech;
- Proven ability to translate positioning into messaging and marketing campaigns, tailored to specific audiences;
- Track record of running marketing programs from conception to execution, shaping the idea, briefing creative, and shipping the work yourself when needed;
- Comfort with data to segment audiences, spot where customers stall, and measure what your programs return;
- Hands-on with HubSpot or a comparable CRM and marketing automation platform for segmentation, workflows, and performance tracking;
- Strong cross-functional program ownership, able to keep several initiatives moving at once;
- Fluent with AI as a practitioner, using it to do more and better work while keeping the output specific and sharp, never generic;
- Leading and owning customer marketing, setting direction for your own programs.
Most of this sounds like you? Apply.
What the job comes with
- Base salary: 85K to 105K. This range reflects our Canada-wide compensation scale. Final offers may be adjusted based on the candidate's region to align with local market conditions.
- Annual bonus program.
- LTIP program, share in Workleap's long-term growth.
- RRSP + Family health insurance + telemedicine + annual wellness budget.
- Flexible vacation policy.
- Remote work, with access to our Montreal office.
- In-person gathering twice a year.
- Claude access, for everyone.
What drives us
At Workleap, we build software that sits at the center of how people experience work, every day, at every level.
We move fast. Priorities shift, decisions get made with the information we have, and we iterate. If you thrive on intensity and ambiguity doesn't slow you down, you'll feel right at home.
We're builders. We do what it takes to move forward. AI is part of our toolkit. We use it to go faster and decide smarter, not to replace judgment.
If you want real impact and a place where your decisions matter, this is it.
How we hire
Transparency is how we hire — for you and for us.
Your journey starts with a recruiter conversation, followed by a virtual interview with the hiring manager and one additional interviewer. Next, you'll complete a take-home case study and meet potential teammates to discuss and collaborate on your work. If it's a match on both sides, we move to an offer. Some positions follow a slightly different path — your recruiter will walk you through it on the call if that's the case.
In the spirit of transparency: we use AI to support parts of the process, but every hiring decision remains firmly human.
We're committed to making this an inclusive and thoughtful experience for every candidate. We're looking forward to showing you that.

Expert Career Tips for Customer Marketing Manager Roles
To succeed in a competitive market as a Customer Marketing Manager, you need more than just technical skills. Here are some expert strategies to elevate your profile:
- Build a Strong Portfolio: For technical roles, a clean GitHub or a personal project site is essential. For non-technical roles, a case study portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact is equally valuable. Show, don't just tell, what you have achieved in your previous positions.
- Master the Narrative: When interviewing, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Quantify your results wherever possible—mentioning "increased efficiency by 20%" is much more impactful than saying "improved efficiency."
- Continuous Learning: The industry moves fast. Whether it's staying updated with the latest AI tools or mastering a new management methodology, continuous professional development is key. Consider obtaining industry-recognized certifications that align with Customer Marketing Manager requirements.
- Networking: Connect with other professionals in similar roles. Join online communities, attend webinars, and engage in meaningful discussions on professional social networks. Often, the best opportunities come through referrals and community engagement.
- Soft Skills Matter: Communication, empathy, and leadership are often the deciding factors between two equally qualified technical candidates. Cultivate these skills as they are universally valued across all industries and seniority levels.
Additionally, research the specific company's culture and values. Tailoring your application to show how you align with their mission can significantly increase your chances of moving forward in the process.

Comprehensive Application Strategy & Hiring Process
Applying for a new role is a marathon, not a sprint. Follow this strategic approach to maximize your success rate:
1. Initial Research & Tailoring
Don't send the same resume to every employer. Spend at least 30 minutes researching the company. Look for recent news, their product roadmap, and their team structure. Modify your summary and core competencies to reflect the specific keywords found in the job description.
2. The Perfect Cover Letter
If the application allows for a cover letter, use it to tell a story that your resume cannot. Explain why you are passionate about this specific company and how your unique background makes you the perfect fit for the challenges they are currently facing.
3. Navigating the Multi-Stage Interview
Most modern hiring processes involve 3-5 stages. This typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or skill-based assessment, a peer interview, and a final leadership round. Prepare for each stage differently: focus on enthusiasm and fit for the recruiter, technical depth for the assessment, and strategic vision for the leadership round.
4. Post-Interview Follow-Up
Always send a personalized thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview. Reference a specific topic discussed during the call to demonstrate your active listening and genuine interest in the role.
By following these steps, you demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that sets you apart from the average applicant.

Global Market Intelligence & Relocation Insights
At JobSetuu, we specialize in helping talent navigate the global job market. Here is what you need to know about the current landscape in Global and beyond:
The demand for skilled professionals is increasingly borderless. For roles based in Global, understanding the local cost of living, visa requirements (if applicable), and cultural nuances is vital. If this is a remote role, consider the time zone alignment and the asynchronous communication culture of the hiring organization.
Relocation Support: Many forward-thinking companies offer relocation packages that include moving stipends, temporary housing, and legal assistance with work permits. When evaluating an offer, look beyond the base salary—consider the total compensation package, including equity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.
Work-Life Balance Trends: Hybrid and remote work have become standard in many regions. Research the local labor laws and common practices regarding work hours and vacation time to ensure the role aligns with your lifestyle goals.
Leveraging JobSetuu's tools can help you compare salaries across different cities and understand the "purchasing power" of your potential offer, ensuring you make an informed decision for your long-term career path.
Skills & Competency Roadmap for Professional Development
To remain competitive in Professional Development, we recommend focusing on the following core competencies over the next 12-18 months:
- Technical Mastery: Deepen your expertise in the core tools and languages relevant to your field. For developers, this might be cloud architecture; for marketers, it might be data-driven attribution modeling.
- AI Augmentation: Learn how to leverage generative AI and automation tools to increase your productivity. Understanding how to integrate these technologies into your workflow is becoming a non-negotiable skill.
- Leadership & Strategy: Even in individual contributor roles, the ability to think strategically and lead projects from inception to completion is highly valued. Focus on stakeholder management and high-level project planning.
- Data Literacy: The ability to interpret data and use it to drive decisions is essential across all business functions. Familiarize yourself with data visualization and basic analytical concepts.
By investing in these areas, you not only prepare yourself for the role you are applying for today but also build a resilient foundation for the opportunities of tomorrow.
