About the Role
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) plays a crucial role in leading the technology strategy, architecture, and engineering standards across the entire organization. This is a leadership position that demands a deep understanding of multiple businesses, while still being deeply involved in system, architecture, and engineering execution.
What You Will Do
- Own the architecture and major technical decisions across group products and platforms.
- Review critical systems, architecture, infrastructure, and code directly.
- Set engineering standards across reliability, security, performance, testing, and code quality.
- Identify technical debt and architecture constraints and drive their resolution.
- Improve engineering productivity, development speed, and production reliability.
- Decide where technology and infrastructure should be shared across Group businesses.
- Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering leaders.
What You Will Need
- Deep software engineering background with experience building and scaling production systems.
- Strong knowledge of backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems.
- Experience making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams.
- Strong technical judgment and the ability to challenge engineering decisions at implementation level.
- Capable of building world-class engineering teams.
- Still technically hands-on - able to review code, architecture, incidents, and difficult engineering problems directly.
