AMZ Advisers Advertising Specialist Job Description
Remote Position – Full Time
About AMZ Advisers
AMZ Advisers is a digital media marketing agency focused on developing and implementing strategic marketing plans for the global Amazon marketplaces. Working at AMZ Advisers allows you to apply your skills, expertise, and passions to directly impact the lives and businesses of other people and entrepreneurs. Our staff solves dynamic, quickly evolving problems with our Founders, in-house team, and network of partnered tech companies.
Working at AMZ Advisers gives you the opportunity to apply your advertising, analytical, and eCommerce experience to directly impact client growth. Our team works in a fast-paced environment where strategy, execution, communication, and accountability are all essential to delivering strong results.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled, organized, and proactive Amazon Advertising Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who has strong hands-on experience managing Amazon advertising accounts and understands how to audit, build, execute, optimize, and scale campaigns based on each client’s specific goals.
The ideal candidate is not only technically strong in Amazon ads, but also strategic, detail-oriented, and able to work closely with Account Managers, Brand Strategists, Content teams, and leadership to ensure client accounts are being managed proactively and effectively.
This person should be able to identify opportunities, catch issues before they become larger problems, communicate clearly with the internal team, and take preventive measures to keep client advertising accounts organized, optimized, and aligned with business objectives.
We need someone who can think beyond basic campaign management. The right candidate will understand how advertising impacts overall account performance, including sales growth, profitability, TACOS, ACOS, organic ranking, conversion rate, inventory considerations, and client goals.
This is a fully remote position. If hired, you will join a talented and fast-moving team focused on delivering strong results for Amazon brands.
What You’ll Do
As an Advertising Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Amazon advertising accounts while working closely with the internal team to support client growth.
Responsibilities include:
Manage a portfolio of 15-20 Amazon advertising accounts across Seller Central and/or Vendor Central.
Audit client advertising accounts to identify wasted spend, missed opportunities, poor campaign structure, inefficient targeting, budget issues, and areas for improvement.
Build, restructure, and optimize Amazon PPC campaigns based on client goals, including profitability, growth, ranking, launch support, defensive strategy, or scaling.
Execute advertising strategies created in collaboration with Account Managers and Brand Strategists
Set up and manage Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Brands Video, Sponsored Display, and other relevant Amazon ad types.
Monitor campaign performance regularly and take proactive action to prevent wasted spend, budget inefficiencies, poor performance, or missed growth opportunities.
Optimize bids, budgets, targeting, placements, search terms, negatives, campaign structure, and keyword strategy based on performance data.
Analyze ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, CTR, CVR, CPC, spend, sales, profitability, and overall account impact to make data-driven advertising decisions.
Create clear recommendations and action plans based on account performance, rather than scattered suggestions or reactive fixes.
Work closely with Account Managers and Brand Strategists to ensure advertising strategies align with the client’s broader Amazon growth plan.
Coordinate with the Content team when listing issues, conversion problems, creative needs, or content improvements are impacting ad performance.
Identify and communicate risks early, including budget concerns, low conversion rates, inventory issues, suppressed listings, poor profitability, ranking drops, or inefficient campaign spend.
Maintain organized campaign structures and clear internal documentation so the team can easily understand what is being done and why.
Provide updates, insights, and recommendations to internal team members in a timely and professional manner.
Track KPIs and performance trends across assigned accounts.
Use advertising tools, reporting platforms, and internal dashboards to monitor account performance and improve decision-making.
Support weekly and monthly reporting by providing meaningful advertising insights, not just surface-level metrics.
Stay up to date on Amazon advertising updates, platform changes, campaign types, and best practices.
Participate in internal meetings, stand-ups, and strategy discussions to flag blockers, risks, opportunities, and next steps.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is confident in Amazon advertising and can take ownership of their work. This person should be able to manage multiple accounts, prioritize effectively, and stay organized without needing constant reminders.
The ideal candidate should have:
Strong hands-on experience managing Amazon PPC campaigns.
Experience with Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central advertising.
Strong understanding of Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Brands Video, and Sponsored Display.
Ability to audit advertising accounts and identify clear opportunities for improvement.
Ability to build and execute campaign strategies based on different client goals.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret performance data correctly.
Understanding of ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, CPC, CTR, CVR, profitability, and how ads impact overall Amazon performance.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
Proactive mindset with the ability to catch problems early and take preventive action.
Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain performance, issues, and recommendations to the internal team.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with Account Managers, Brand Strategists, Content teams, and leadership.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to test new strategies when appropriate.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly when priorities change.
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
Requirements
2+ years of Amazon advertising experience preferred.
1+ year of PPC advertising experience required.
1+ year of digital marketing or eCommerce experience required.
Experience managing Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central advertising accounts.

Expert Career Tips for Amazon Advertising Specialist Roles
To succeed in a competitive market as a Amazon Advertising Specialist, you need more than just technical skills. Here are some expert strategies to elevate your profile:
- Build a Strong Portfolio: For technical roles, a clean GitHub or a personal project site is essential. For non-technical roles, a case study portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact is equally valuable. Show, don't just tell, what you have achieved in your previous positions.
- Master the Narrative: When interviewing, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Quantify your results wherever possible—mentioning "increased efficiency by 20%" is much more impactful than saying "improved efficiency."
- Continuous Learning: The industry moves fast. Whether it's staying updated with the latest AI tools or mastering a new management methodology, continuous professional development is key. Consider obtaining industry-recognized certifications that align with Amazon Advertising Specialist requirements.
- Networking: Connect with other professionals in similar roles. Join online communities, attend webinars, and engage in meaningful discussions on professional social networks. Often, the best opportunities come through referrals and community engagement.
- Soft Skills Matter: Communication, empathy, and leadership are often the deciding factors between two equally qualified technical candidates. Cultivate these skills as they are universally valued across all industries and seniority levels.
Additionally, research the specific company's culture and values. Tailoring your application to show how you align with their mission can significantly increase your chances of moving forward in the process.

Comprehensive Application Strategy & Hiring Process
Applying for a new role is a marathon, not a sprint. Follow this strategic approach to maximize your success rate:
1. Initial Research & Tailoring
Don't send the same resume to every employer. Spend at least 30 minutes researching the company. Look for recent news, their product roadmap, and their team structure. Modify your summary and core competencies to reflect the specific keywords found in the job description.
2. The Perfect Cover Letter
If the application allows for a cover letter, use it to tell a story that your resume cannot. Explain why you are passionate about this specific company and how your unique background makes you the perfect fit for the challenges they are currently facing.
3. Navigating the Multi-Stage Interview
Most modern hiring processes involve 3-5 stages. This typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or skill-based assessment, a peer interview, and a final leadership round. Prepare for each stage differently: focus on enthusiasm and fit for the recruiter, technical depth for the assessment, and strategic vision for the leadership round.
4. Post-Interview Follow-Up
Always send a personalized thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview. Reference a specific topic discussed during the call to demonstrate your active listening and genuine interest in the role.
By following these steps, you demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that sets you apart from the average applicant.
Typical Interview Process
- Resume screening
- HR call
- Skill interview
- Final manager interview
- Offer
Tip: Research the company's products and culture.
Global Market Intelligence & Relocation Insights
At JobSetuu, we specialize in helping talent navigate the global job market. Here is what you need to know about the current landscape in Global and beyond:
The demand for skilled professionals is increasingly borderless. For roles based in Global, understanding the local cost of living, visa requirements (if applicable), and cultural nuances is vital. If this is a remote role, consider the time zone alignment and the asynchronous communication culture of the hiring organization.
Relocation Support: Many forward-thinking companies offer relocation packages that include moving stipends, temporary housing, and legal assistance with work permits. When evaluating an offer, look beyond the base salary—consider the total compensation package, including equity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.
Work-Life Balance Trends: Hybrid and remote work have become standard in many regions. Research the local labor laws and common practices regarding work hours and vacation time to ensure the role aligns with your lifestyle goals.
Leveraging JobSetuu's tools can help you compare salaries across different cities and understand the "purchasing power" of your potential offer, ensuring you make an informed decision for your long-term career path.
Skills & Competency Roadmap for Professional Development
To remain competitive in Professional Development, we recommend focusing on the following core competencies over the next 12-18 months:
- Technical Mastery: Deepen your expertise in the core tools and languages relevant to your field. For developers, this might be cloud architecture; for marketers, it might be data-driven attribution modeling.
- AI Augmentation: Learn how to leverage generative AI and automation tools to increase your productivity. Understanding how to integrate these technologies into your workflow is becoming a non-negotiable skill.
- Leadership & Strategy: Even in individual contributor roles, the ability to think strategically and lead projects from inception to completion is highly valued. Focus on stakeholder management and high-level project planning.
- Data Literacy: The ability to interpret data and use it to drive decisions is essential across all business functions. Familiarize yourself with data visualization and basic analytical concepts.
By investing in these areas, you not only prepare yourself for the role you are applying for today but also build a resilient foundation for the opportunities of tomorrow.
