Tended is pioneering the geofencing solution, which has been recognized as one of TIME's Best Inventions and has been named in the Digital Leaders 100 list for Geospatial Initiative of the Year. It's already being used on the tracks, enhancing worker safety and operational efficiency.
Network Rail is committed to geofencing and the rollout of this technology across the Sussex region is well underway. We're seeking an Implementation Lead to help us scale our capabilities on the ground.
Responsibilities
As an Implementation Lead, you're the bridge between Tended and our clients, guiding their teams through the deployment of our kit on-site.
You'll lead key client deployments on the ground, collaborating closely with Tended's project managers to deliver an excellent service. Success in this role depends on building strong, trusting relationships quickly - so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Your deep understanding of our products will enable you to coach users through their day-to-day challenges until they are comfortable using it on their own. You'll be in a unique position to see how our products are really used, providing ideas for improvements and feedback to the team.
Strong knowledge of the rail environment and the roles within it, as well as a PTS qualification or the ability to obtain one, is essential. We're looking for someone proactive and approachable - their person fit matters to us.
Travel and working pattern:
This role involves regular client site visits across the Sussex region, spending at least 3 days a week in the depot and on-site, with the remaining time working remotely or in person with your line manager.
Because our users work shifts, this role covers both nightshifts and dayshifts, and includes weekend and bank holiday working - flexibility to meet the needs of the business and our clients is essential.
In return, we have excellent policies covering travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses, as well as fatigue management and time off in lieu.
A full driving licence is required.

Essential
- You have experience in roles such as ES, ESA, COSS, Site Agent, or in a comparable on-site leadership role within the railway or related industries.
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence site teams and users, turning them into capable users of our product. Experience working with different roles, from track workers to site managers, is desirable.
- You are comfortable with technology and enthusiastic to develop an in-depth understanding of our products to provide on-site coaching and support to users.
- You take a detailed approach and consistently follow established processes and procedures with accuracy.
- You are proactive and innovative, taking initiative to find and fix problems, thinking out of the box to find ways to make things better.
Desirable
- You might have practical, hands-on experience of on-the-ground delivery of new technologies, delivering to a range of different kinds of users with different levels of tech-savviness.
- You might have experience with project management tools.
- You might have some experience in project management disciplines such as planning, managing risks, dependencies, issues, timelines, budgets, scope, deliverables, and quality.
- You might have some commercial awareness, such as understanding how to demonstrate the value of our work to clients during delivery.
