Your impact in this role:

As Senior Backend Developer (f/m/d) in our Data Team, it is your mission to ensure the stable operation of critical backend systems and data-near infrastructure that form the heart of aedifion's platform. You connect operational reliability with continuous improvement and contribute significantly to delivering on aedifion's plug-and-play promise by reducing technical debt, improving test coverage, and building scalable automation that makes buildings worldwide more energy-efficient.

What to expect:

  • Maintenance & Operations: Ensure reliable operation of the Multilogger and Edge Device services through proactive maintenance and systematic resolution of critical errors in production systems.

  • Backend Development: Design, implement, and continuously improve Python-based services for operations, infrastructure, and API integrations with a strong focus on maintainability, scalability, and established best practices.

  • Test Culture: Actively drive the improvement of automated test coverage across critical system components and establish sustainable testing best practices that ensure long-term code quality and system reliability.

  • Infrastructure & Containerization: Work with containerized systems and Kubernetes to deploy, monitor, and optimize backend services in resource-constrained edge environments with consideration for DevOps workflows.

  • Process Automation: Reduce manual effort in project onboarding processes through systematic infrastructure development and intelligent automation that scales across multiple customer deployments.

  • API Integrations: Develop and maintain clean, robust integrations with external systems and services that extend platform capabilities while ensuring reliability and performance.

  • Experience: Extensive expertise in backend development with Python in production environments, with demonstrable success in operating and evolving critical services in operational, high-availability contexts.
