Job Description

About The Company

At NaroIQ, we believe the fund industry is undergoing a structural shift: investors are more cost-conscious and transparency-driven than ever, and ETFs are a natural outcome of this shift.

Yet many management companies (ManCos) excel at running traditional mutual funds — but struggle to enter the ETF market. Launching and operating ETFs adds a new layer of complexity: new partners, interfaces, processes, and systems that most existing setups weren't built for.

NaroIQ gives ManCos a fast, reliable path into the ETF market. We provide the digital ETF infrastructure that reduces operational complexity, so ManCos can launch and run ETFs at scale and compete effectively, helping broaden access to the market beyond dominant, US-based providers.

We are remote-first, with in-person collaboration opportunities. We work with international clients and have raised over $10m from top-tier investors and operators across finance and technology.

The Role and What Makes It Special

You own the two functions that decide how the outside world experiences NaroIQ: How we are perceived in the market, and who we manage to attract to build it. Marketing and Talent sit together in one role at NaroIQ because the same narrative — sharp, technical, high quality— has to land with senior executive with journalists as well as with the engineers, operators and commercial talent we want to hire next.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end role. You will not manage a team of specialists who do the work. You'll do the work: Drafting the LinkedIn post, creating relationships with journalists, organizing events and building an employer brand — and you'll build the systems that let NaroIQ scale this without losing sharpness.

You report to the CEO (Chris) and his Chief of Staff (Leona) and work in tight loops with Growth, Product and the leadership team. Over time, you have the opportunity to grow the function around you.

Tasks

What You'll Do

PR & Events

  • Run PR campaigns end-to-end, directly and with external PR partners, to build durable credibility and secure consistent placements in tier-1 outlets (Handelsblatt, Bloomberg, FT) and the FinTech and asset-management publications that matter
  • Build and maintain a working network of journalists and editors; develop narratives that sharpen NaroIQ's positioning as the future of asset management and asset servicing
  • Plan and coordinate events and speaking slots (Money20/20, FinTech and asset-management conferences, exclusive industry roundtables)

Content & Brand

  • Build a scalable content and thought-leadership engine that actively supports sales enablement and pipeline progression
  • Grow NaroIQ's organic LinkedIn presence at the company and founder level. A steady cadence of substantive posts, not noise.
  • Build and maintain a consistent brand identity across every surface: website, pitch deck, one-pagers, careers page, sales collateral
  • Create a brand that sticks with our audience: You decide how we are perceived in the market and what the NaroIQ storyline should look like

Demand Generation & Sales Alignment

  • Develop the materials that prepare and accelerate enterprise conversations: one-pagers, decks, whitepapers, case studies
  • Build and run inbound growth motions: SEO, AI search optimization, and targeted growth experiments
  • Close the loop with Sales: instrument what's working, kill what isn't, feed campaign learnings back into product and positioning

Recruiting & Employer Branding

  • Build NaroIQ's employer brand into a real asset: a careers narrative that pulls senior talent in, a careers page that converts, a candidate experience that earns referrals
  • Position NaroIQ as one of the most attractive places to work in European FinTech; through content, events, founder presence, and the lived experience of the team

Requirements

What We're Looking For

(You don't need to know it all — but you should be ready to dive in, learn fast, and take initiative.)

  • Experience in B2B marketing: Ideally in financial services or at an AI / enterprise startup
  • Creative and strong at storytelling: You can draft an explanatory case study, a press pitch that lands, and a job description that pulls. Without slipping into FinTech buzzwords.
  • Extroverted and a strong communicator: You build real relationships with journalists, candidates and event coordinators
  • Existing PR network or demonstrable track record in media work is a big plus
  • Data-driven: You think in KPIs and processes, and use them to make the work sharper
  • Experimental: You actively try new channels and formats, like AI search, new social formats, distribution plays
  • Comfortable supporting recruiting end-to-end from role definition through closing senior hires
  • A taste-led approach to brand: you can hold a consistent visual and verbal system across surfaces and push back on output that breaks it
  • Structured, self-directed working style; comfort operating with ambiguity and high ownership in a small, fast-moving team
  • Fluent in English and German, written and spoken

Nice to have: existing relationships with FinTech or asset-management journalists; experience building a careers brand from scratch; familiarity with growth tooling (SEO, attribution, growth-hacking stacks).

Why NaroIQ

We're building something ambitious — and we believe the only way to do that is with a team that's low-ego, high-impact, and genuinely excited about what they're doing.

Here's what we care about:

🔑 High Ownership
We trust you to take full responsibility for your work. That means freedom and also being the person others rely on when things get real.

🚫 No Bullshit, No Ego
We're too small for politics, posturing or competing agendas. We care about doing the right thing, not being right.

🧘‍♂️ Flexibility
Exceptional work doesn't require relocation or fixed office hours. Have dinner with your family. Get that dog. Move to the Alps. We're remote-friendly and trust people to manage their own time.

🧳 Sometimes We Leave the House
We do make time for real-life moments, like quarterly offsites or in-person team sessions, to solve stuff together or just hang out.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Hire for Spikes
We don't expect you to be good at everything. We care about your superpower. We're building a team of nerds who are world-class in wildly different areas.

💡 Customers First – Tech that Follows Through
Customers are basically the only reason we exist. And we don't build tech for tech's sake. But the best user experiences usually rely on thoughtful, powerful engineering, so we invest in both, deeply.

🛠 Default to Rethink
We don't accept "that's just how it is." We dig deep, think from scratch and always believe there's a better way. First Principles isn’t a buzzword for us.

💅🏼 Give Yourself a Little Treat
We use hrmony, so you can spend up to €50/month on the little things that bring you joy: Urban Sports, DAZN, Mediamarkt, Thalia, whatever suits you.

🤓 Your Learning Curve is Our Investment
Everyone at NaroIQ gets €1,000 per year for courses, books, coaching, or whatever helps them grow.

Expert Career Tips for Marketing & Talent (m/f/d), German Speaking Roles

To succeed in a competitive market as a Marketing & Talent (m/f/d), German Speaking, you need more than just technical skills. Here are some expert strategies to elevate your profile:

  • Build a Strong Portfolio: For technical roles, a clean GitHub or a personal project site is essential. For non-technical roles, a case study portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact is equally valuable. Show, don't just tell, what you have achieved in your previous positions.
  • Master the Narrative: When interviewing, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Quantify your results wherever possible—mentioning "increased efficiency by 20%" is much more impactful than saying "improved efficiency."
  • Continuous Learning: The industry moves fast. Whether it's staying updated with the latest AI tools or mastering a new management methodology, continuous professional development is key. Consider obtaining industry-recognized certifications that align with Marketing & Talent (m/f/d), German Speaking requirements.
  • Networking: Connect with other professionals in similar roles. Join online communities, attend webinars, and engage in meaningful discussions on professional social networks. Often, the best opportunities come through referrals and community engagement.
  • Soft Skills Matter: Communication, empathy, and leadership are often the deciding factors between two equally qualified technical candidates. Cultivate these skills as they are universally valued across all industries and seniority levels.

Additionally, research the specific company's culture and values. Tailoring your application to show how you align with their mission can significantly increase your chances of moving forward in the process.

Comprehensive Application Strategy & Hiring Process

Applying for a new role is a marathon, not a sprint. Follow this strategic approach to maximize your success rate:

1. Initial Research & Tailoring

Don't send the same resume to every employer. Spend at least 30 minutes researching the company. Look for recent news, their product roadmap, and their team structure. Modify your summary and core competencies to reflect the specific keywords found in the job description.

2. The Perfect Cover Letter

If the application allows for a cover letter, use it to tell a story that your resume cannot. Explain why you are passionate about this specific company and how your unique background makes you the perfect fit for the challenges they are currently facing.

3. Navigating the Multi-Stage Interview

Most modern hiring processes involve 3-5 stages. This typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or skill-based assessment, a peer interview, and a final leadership round. Prepare for each stage differently: focus on enthusiasm and fit for the recruiter, technical depth for the assessment, and strategic vision for the leadership round.

4. Post-Interview Follow-Up

Always send a personalized thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview. Reference a specific topic discussed during the call to demonstrate your active listening and genuine interest in the role.

By following these steps, you demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that sets you apart from the average applicant.

Typical Interview Process

  1. Resume screening
  2. HR call
  3. Skill interview
  4. Final manager interview
  5. Offer

Global Market Intelligence & Relocation Insights

At JobSetuu, we specialize in helping talent navigate the global job market. Here is what you need to know about the current landscape in Berlin and beyond:

The demand for skilled professionals is increasingly borderless. For roles based in Berlin, understanding the local cost of living, visa requirements (if applicable), and cultural nuances is vital. If this is a remote role, consider the time zone alignment and the asynchronous communication culture of the hiring organization.

Relocation Support: Many forward-thinking companies offer relocation packages that include moving stipends, temporary housing, and legal assistance with work permits. When evaluating an offer, look beyond the base salary—consider the total compensation package, including equity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.

Work-Life Balance Trends: Hybrid and remote work have become standard in many regions. Research the local labor laws and common practices regarding work hours and vacation time to ensure the role aligns with your lifestyle goals.

Leveraging JobSetuu's tools can help you compare salaries across different cities and understand the "purchasing power" of your potential offer, ensuring you make an informed decision for your long-term career path.

Skills & Competency Roadmap for Professional Development

To remain competitive in Professional Development, we recommend focusing on the following core competencies over the next 12-18 months:

  • Technical Mastery: Deepen your expertise in the core tools and languages relevant to your field. For developers, this might be cloud architecture; for marketers, it might be data-driven attribution modeling.
  • AI Augmentation: Learn how to leverage generative AI and automation tools to increase your productivity. Understanding how to integrate these technologies into your workflow is becoming a non-negotiable skill.
  • Leadership & Strategy: Even in individual contributor roles, the ability to think strategically and lead projects from inception to completion is highly valued. Focus on stakeholder management and high-level project planning.
  • Data Literacy: The ability to interpret data and use it to drive decisions is essential across all business functions. Familiarize yourself with data visualization and basic analytical concepts.

By investing in these areas, you not only prepare yourself for the role you are applying for today but also build a resilient foundation for the opportunities of tomorrow.
