Job Description
I am a lead software engineer with 15 years of industry experience, who has worked across a variety of complex industries (finance, AI/ML, gaming, live video streaming, E-commerce, etc.) In my current (contract) role I am working solo to build an MVP application for investors for a game development startup specialising in voice-to-voice conversations with NPCs, with sub-second realtime latency. In my previous role, I led two teams of software engineers at a pension company building web applications which process £billions annually. I can design your architecture, build your application (frontend, backend, embedded, desktop, mobile, whatever you need), create pipelines to deploy it into production, and manage your database. I am extremely experienced with AWS and can walk you through the pros and cons of the various services they provide, and take full ownership of the entirety of your hosting, eliminating any need for hiring DevOps/infrastructure roles. I am proficient in C#, PHP, Java, SQL, HTML and JS/TypeScript. Beyond being able to write code in those languages, I'm able to discuss their internals and best practices. Additionally, I'm competent with Python, React, GoLang, Rust, MongoDB and a host of other tools. I am a proven operator in this field, and I'm available to start within the next 2 weeks (though I'm also open to evening work if you have a pressing feature you need building yesterday). I previously ran my own startup and can walk you through the necessary steps, provide a sounding board for your ideas, and make sure your go-to-market strategy is reasonable and well planned. I charge $24/hour, and I'm based in the UK currently, but I'm flexible in my working hours to ensure sufficient crossover for meetings.
