Job Description
Who we are
About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world's largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.
About the team
Web Presence & Platform (WPP) is organized into two pillars: Platform and Presence. The Platform pillar builds internal systems, tooling, and infrastructure to support the web. The Presence pillar owns Stripe's public-facing storytelling across stripe.com and link.com—including our homepage, product landing pages, industry and solutions pages, and other high-impact go-to-market surfaces. Together, we shape how millions of people understand what Stripe is and what it can do for them.
Designers on the Presence team work at the intersection of craft and impact—balancing clarity, polish, and systems thinking with strategic storytelling and experimentation. We collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, content, and product to deliver work that is not only beautiful, but measurably moves the business.
What you’ll do
As a Designer on the Presence team, you'll own design across two distinct and high-visibility surface areas: Link (Stripe's one-click checkout experience and link.com) and Bridge (bridge.xyz — Stripe's stablecoin financial infrastructure, operating as its own standalone web property). These are some of the most strategically varied and creatively demanding surfaces in our portfolio — each with its own audience, brand voice, and design challenge.
You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy: driving work from brief to launch, navigating ambiguity with confidence, and setting the quality bar for your focus areas. You'll shape the design systems and storytelling frameworks that make these surfaces scale, and you'll build deep expertise that makes you a go-to partner for the cross-functional teams you work alongside. This is a high-ownership role for a designer who is equally at home leading a complex project and sweating the details of a single layout.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design of your focus areas Link and Bridge—from early strategy through final delivery, with minimal oversight
- Drive clarity in ambiguous or loosely defined briefs by synthesizing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into a coherent point of view
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, PMM, content design, brand, and product—facilitating alignment, integrating feedback, and keeping projects moving
- Partner deeply with engineering throughout the design process—from exploring technical possibilities and constraints early, to co-creating solutions at the intersection of craft and code, and ensuring design intent carries through to final implementation
- Develop and advance design systems, patterns, and components specific to your surfaces, ensuring they are extensible and maintainable at scale
- Apply and evolve visual and interaction standards that uphold Stripe's quality bar across diverse surface types—from immersive event experiences to conversion-focused product pages
- Use research insights, user testing, and performance data to ground your decisions and advocate for the user across partner conversations
- Actively contribute to team quality—sharing your expertise, setting an example in critique, and helping raise the standard of work across the Presence team
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these, we encourage you to apply—even if you don't meet every preferred qualification.
Minimum requirements
- 5–7 years of relevant design experience, ideally in web, product marketing, or brand contexts
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft, systems thinking, and the ability to lead complex, multi-faceted design work independently
- Proven ability to own projects end-to-end—from framing the problem to shipping the solution—in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Deep fluency in layout, typography, color, motion, and interaction; a designer who cares about every detail and knows why it matters
- Comfort navigating ambiguity: you can generate a clear plan from a loose brief and bring partners along with you
- Strong communication skills—you articulate your thinking clearly, manage expectations proactively, and reduce confusion rather than add to it
- Proficiency in Figma and experience working within component-based design systems
- Fluency with AI design tools and workflows—comfortable using AI for ideation, prototyping, and creative exploration, and genuinely curious about staying current as the AI landscape evolves
- Experience designing for CMS-driven websites with modular, scalable systems
Preferred qualifications
- Experience designing event or campaign-driven marketing experiences (conferences, product launches, brand moments)
- Familiarity with designing for financial products or developer audiences, where clarity and trust are design requirements
- Fluency with front-end development workflows; you can collaborate meaningfully with engineers on what's possible and what's right
- Experience designing for international audiences, multilingual surfaces, or accessibility requirements
- Experience owning or contributing to design across multiple distinct web properties or brand identities simultaneously
- A track record of advancing shared design patterns, systems, or tooling—not just using them
How we work
We care deeply about craft—but also about moving with urgency and focus. We seek feedback early and often, because we believe design gets stronger through collaboration and iteration. We keep our users front and center—whether that's a developer evaluating Stripe for the first time, a shopper encountering Link at checkout, or a fintech founder learning about Bridge. And we take pride in shipping work that is not only beautiful and precise, but that delivers clear, measurable impact.
We value curiosity, directness, and resilience. You'll do well here if you thrive in ownership, bring strong intuition without losing sight of the data, and are energized by complex problems that require both strategic clarity and exceptional craft.

Expert Career Tips for Designer, Web Presence & Platform Roles
To succeed in a competitive market as a Designer, Web Presence & Platform, you need more than just technical skills. Here are some expert strategies to elevate your profile:
- Build a Strong Portfolio: For technical roles, a clean GitHub or a personal project site is essential. For non-technical roles, a case study portfolio demonstrating problem-solving and impact is equally valuable. Show, don't just tell, what you have achieved in your previous positions.
- Master the Narrative: When interviewing, use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers. Quantify your results wherever possible—mentioning "increased efficiency by 20%" is much more impactful than saying "improved efficiency."
- Continuous Learning: The industry moves fast. Whether it's staying updated with the latest AI tools or mastering a new management methodology, continuous professional development is key. Consider obtaining industry-recognized certifications that align with Designer, Web Presence & Platform requirements.
- Networking: Connect with other professionals in similar roles. Join online communities, attend webinars, and engage in meaningful discussions on professional social networks. Often, the best opportunities come through referrals and community engagement.
- Soft Skills Matter: Communication, empathy, and leadership are often the deciding factors between two equally qualified technical candidates. Cultivate these skills as they are universally valued across all industries and seniority levels.
Additionally, research the specific company's culture and values. Tailoring your application to show how you align with their mission can significantly increase your chances of moving forward in the process.

Comprehensive Application Strategy & Hiring Process
Applying for a new role is a marathon, not a sprint. Follow this strategic approach to maximize your success rate:
1. Initial Research & Tailoring
Don't send the same resume to every employer. Spend at least 30 minutes researching the company. Look for recent news, their product roadmap, and their team structure. Modify your summary and core competencies to reflect the specific keywords found in the job description.
2. The Perfect Cover Letter
If the application allows for a cover letter, use it to tell a story that your resume cannot. Explain why you are passionate about this specific company and how your unique background makes you the perfect fit for the challenges they are currently facing.
3. Navigating the Multi-Stage Interview
Most modern hiring processes involve 3-5 stages. This typically includes a recruiter screen, a technical or skill-based assessment, a peer interview, and a final leadership round. Prepare for each stage differently: focus on enthusiasm and fit for the recruiter, technical depth for the assessment, and strategic vision for the leadership round.
4. Post-Interview Follow-Up
Always send a personalized thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview. Reference a specific topic discussed during the call to demonstrate your active listening and genuine interest in the role.
By following these steps, you demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail that sets you apart from the average applicant.
Typical Interview Process

- HR call
- Skill interview
- Final manager interview

Global Market Intelligence & Relocation Insights
At JobSetuu, we specialize in helping talent navigate the global job market. Here is what you need to know about the current landscape in Global and beyond:
The demand for skilled professionals is increasingly borderless. For roles based in Global, understanding the local cost of living, visa requirements (if applicable), and cultural nuances is vital. If this is a remote role, consider the time zone alignment and the asynchronous communication culture of the hiring organization.
Relocation Support: Many forward-thinking companies offer relocation packages that include moving stipends, temporary housing, and legal assistance with work permits. When evaluating an offer, look beyond the base salary—consider the total compensation package, including equity, bonuses, and healthcare benefits.
Work-Life Balance Trends: Hybrid and remote work have become standard in many regions. Research the local labor laws and common practices regarding work hours and vacation time to ensure the role aligns with your lifestyle goals.
Leveraging JobSetuu's tools can help you compare salaries across different cities and understand the "purchasing power" of your potential offer, ensuring you make an informed decision for your long-term career path.
Skills & Competency Roadmap for Professional Development
To remain competitive in Professional Development, we recommend focusing on the following core competencies over the next 12-18 months:
- Technical Mastery: Deepen your expertise in the core tools and languages relevant to your field. For developers, this might be cloud architecture; for marketers, it might be data-driven attribution modeling.
- AI Augmentation: Learn how to leverage generative AI and automation tools to increase your productivity. Understanding how to integrate these technologies into your workflow is becoming a non-negotiable skill.
- Leadership & Strategy: Even in individual contributor roles, the ability to think strategically and lead projects from inception to completion is highly valued. Focus on stakeholder management and high-level project planning.
- Data Literacy: The ability to interpret data and use it to drive decisions is essential across all business functions. Familiarize yourself with data visualization and basic analytical concepts.
By investing in these areas, you not only prepare yourself for the role you are applying for today but also build a resilient foundation for the opportunities of tomorrow.
