Job Description
Phaseform is a successful deep-tech company based in Freiburg, Germany. We change the way adaptive optics can help microscopy, ophthalmology and machine vision using our prioprietary optofluidic wavefront modulator technology (DPP).
We are currently in the second year of the EIC Accelerator programme — one of the most competitive EU funding instruments for breakthrough innovation — and are driving the next phase of growth, including further fundraising and international market expansion. As we scale, we need robust financial structures that can keep up with the increased complexities.
To support this, we are looking for an experienced external CFO (m/f/d) who can take ownership of our financial planning, reporting, and grant management — and grow with us into what comes next.
Aufgaben
- Financial planning (P&L, cash flow, budget), forecasts, scenario analyses, runway, and data room materials (investor-grade)
- Short-, medium-, and long-term liquidity planning, cash management, and reporting
- Owning the tax advisor (Steuerberater) relationship (financial data per HGB)
- Funding agency interface for cost reporting, financials for new grants
- Consistent intercompany / group reporting for investors and stakeholders
- Sparring partner to the CEO
Qualifikation
Required:
- Extensive experience as CFO, Head of Finance, or senior Controller
- Deep familiarity with HGB, German tax law, and the tax advisor / auditor (Steuerberater / Wirtschaftsprüfer) ecosystem
- Financial modelling skills (investor-grade)
- Hands-on mentality; comfortable in lean environments
- Native-level German; English working proficiency
Nice to have:
