About the role
As our AI Operations Lead, you will drive the execution of our internal AI strategy and fundamentally transform the way software is built across our organization. Working primarily with our DevOps team and the wider tech department — and in close collaboration with our internal vibe-coding stakeholders — you operate and evolve our central AI infrastructure across all tech squads, and act as a close architectural sparring partner to our VP of Engineering. As an Individual Contributor, you help us build a self-governing AI system — clear guardrails, automated quality and security gates, and per-domain transparency — so the platform governs itself along our Measure · Document · Govern model. You operationalize the technical direction and guardrails set together with the CTO and VP of Engineering, and partner with the squad leads to roll them out across the org.
In this role, you will skillfully drive change management, enabling both our engineering teams and business builders to deploy AI-driven automations efficiently, rapidly, and to the highest industry standards.
What you'll do
- AI Infrastructure & Pipeline Operations: Operating and scaling our central agentic coding pipeline and platform tools together with DevOps, with a focus on system throughput and code quality.
- Squad Alignment & Foundation Integration: Partnering closely with tech squads to translate their engineering requirements into common foundations and our central registry, and driving their integration and automated documentation.
- Data Access Governance & Compliance: Implementing and maintaining the platform-level data rails — automated PII masking, role-based keys via Hasura, and secure environment routing — enforced automatically by the platform rather than manually.
- Process Optimization & Loop Automation: Continuously analyzing our software development lifecycle (SDLC) to build and optimize automated quality gates, implementer/reviewer loops, and agent harnesses.
- Platform Analytics & Metric Tracking: Building and leveraging dashboards to track domain-specific metrics — such as AI-committed code ratios, bug frequencies, cycle times, and domain token costs.
- Change Management & Builder Enablement: Rolling out a modern, AI-native platform operating model and the guardrails defined with leadership, helping engineering teams and non-technical vibe coders safely move prototype automations into production.
- Security Automation & Audit Support: Integrating automated compliance scans (SAST/SCA) directly into the pipeline, providing the technical groundwork for annual audits, and actively investigating system vulnerabilities.
- Architectural Sparring & Deep-Dive Debugging: Serving as a reliable engineering sparring partner to leadership and investigating complex, cross-system bugs across our microservice landscape (Go, TypeScript, PHP) when required.

What you’ll need
- 5+ years of relevant experience overall, including 1–2 years at a staff/principal level.
- Deep, hands-on experience with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, ChatGPT Codex, Gemini CLI, Junie, GitHub Copilot) and with vibe coding — you automate SDLC steps end-to-end, not just single prompts.
- You have built at least one MCP server yourself and understand REST/GraphQL endpoints and their design.
- Hands-on systems architecture across a microservice landscape: you get into unfamiliar services quickly and can trace a bug across systems.
- Solid in Go and TypeScript/React; able to read and debug PHP.
- Concept-level cloud experience with at least one major provider (IAM, networking, managed services, provisioning) and a solid grasp of relational databases.
- Security fundamentals: comfortable with the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerability classes — enough to speak to security in audits and RFPs (GDPR/PII, ISO 27001 at concept level).
- A strong communicator who brings squad leads and vibe coders along through clarity and credibility. Pragmatic, fast, low on bullshit.
- You live 'output over input' and speed, and actively follow the state of the art in AI to judge what is worth applying here.
